The headline addition for 2027 is the hybrid powertrain. Two new hybrid trims, the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid, bring a 200-hp hybrid system to the Civic Sedan lineup and push fuel economy to 50 city / 47 highway mpg on those grades.

The Sport Touring Hybrid raises the technology bar significantly. It adds Google built-in with Google Gemini AI assistant, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay, a Bose 12-speaker premium audio system, and Honda S+ Shift. These features were not available in the 2026 Civic Sedan lineup.
Honda Sensing remains standard across every trim, and the core powertrain on non-hybrid trims is unchanged. The 2.0L naturally aspirated engine still produces 150 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque paired to a CVT with front-wheel drive.
