The 2027 CR-V is built around two separate powertrain architectures. The gas lineup uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 with DOHC VTEC, producing 190 hp at 6,000 rpm and 179 lb-ft of torque between 1,700 and 5,000 rpm. That broad torque band is the turbocharged engine's core strength, it pulls confidently from low speeds without needing high revs.
The hybrid lineup uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-4 paired with a two-motor hybrid system. The gas portion alone produces 145 hp, but the combined system output reaches 204 total system horsepower. The electric motor adds 181 hp at 5,000 to 8,000 rpm and a substantial 247 lb-ft of torque from a dead stop. That near-instant electric torque is what gives the hybrid its noticeably responsive launch feel.
Both systems use regular unleaded fuel and share a 14-gallon fuel tank. Both run clean: the gas trims earn a LEV4 SULEV30 rating, while the hybrid trims step up to LEV4 SULEV20.
