The Honda Prelude nameplate is back for 2027 after more than two decades away, and it arrives as a full hybrid coupe rather than a continuation of the original platform. This is a ground-up new vehicle built on the e:HEV two-motor hybrid system, the same powertrain architecture found in the Honda Accord Hybrid, tuned here for a sportier character.
The most significant addition over a conventional sport coupe is Honda S+ Shift, a simulated 8-speed gear mode operated by alloy paddle shifters that lets the driver select and hold "gears" on an electric CVT. No prior Honda coupe offered this system in a street-going hybrid.
Other firsts on this model:
- Brembo 4-piston aluminum front brake calipers with two-piece rotors, standard on both trims
- Dual-axis MacPherson strut front suspension sourced from Civic Type R chassis hardware
- Adaptive damper system with four drive modes (Comfort, GT, Sport, Individual)
- Google built-in with Google Gemini integration on the 9-inch touchscreen
- 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster standard across the lineup
