The All-New 2023 Honda HR-V

Since its introduction in 2016, the Honda HR-V has been a hot seller, and a hit with drivers. With such a success on their hands, you'd forgive Honda for not wanting to tinker with a good thing. But for the 2023 model year, Honda has done just that. The all-new 2023 Honda HR-V is bigger and better than ever before. A generous offering of standard features and three trim levels means the Honda HR-V has something for everyone, no matter what you're looking for in a small SUV.

2023 Honda HR-V specs and standard features

No matter what 2023 Honda HR-V you choose, each model comes with standard features you're not going to have to worry about going without. All three trims come with a fuel-efficient 2-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a CVT automatic with front-wheel-drive. For HR-V buyers looking to get off the beaten path, an all-wheel-drive version is also available.

The new engine is bigger and more powerful than before, with 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. That's 17 hp and 11 lb-ft more than the previous HR-V. Although many people associate SUVs with lower fuel economy, the 2023 HR-V is very good on gas, with 32 MPG on the highway and 26 MPG in the city on the FWD model, with 30 MPG on the highway and 25 MPG in the city with the AWD-equipped models.

On the outside, the new design features LED headlights, body-colored door handles, a bigger more aggressive grill, and an overall sleeker appearance, despite being bigger and roomier than before.

The new 2023 Honda HR-V isn't just prettier; it's safer too, with a wide range of driver aids and active safety technologies offered as standard on every trim level. Honda calls their safety package Honda Sensing suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic high beams, and automatic emergency braking. To help keep everyone on the inside safe, Honda has added front-row knee airbags and rear seat side airbags.

2023 Honda HR-V Interior

The interior of the 2023 HR-V has also been improved. Every trim comes with air ducts for the rear seats, three USB ports, and a 7-inch digital dash cluster display. For aspiring road-trip DJs, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both come standard.

One of the reasons why drivers like SUVs is the cargo capacity. The 2023 Honda HR-V measures 24.4 cubic feet of space in the trunk with the rear seats up, and 55.1 cubic feet when you fold down the 60/40 split-folding rear seats.

LX Trim:

The entry-level 2023 Honda HR-V comes equipped with 17" alloy wheels. Power-adjustable side mirrors, as well as LED lighting all around make the HR-V stand out from the crowd.

In the cabin, the manually adjustable cloth seats are comfortable, durable, and easy to clean. The 7" touch screen infotainment system pumps the audio through four speakers.

Standout Features:

LED Lighting: See further with LED headlights, and be seen easier with long-lasting and bright LED tail-lights

Endless Charging Options: No need for the kids in the back to fight over who gets to charge their phone first with three USB ports up front, plus a 12-volt socket in the trunk.

Sport Trim:

The Sport trim takes everything in the LX and adds a sporty style. On the outside, you'll find bigger 18" wheels with wider tires, grille, side mirror caps, and spoiler, all with a striking black finish. The exterior appearance is finished off with a chrome exhaust.

The interior's cloth seats are livened up with red seat stitching, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift. The Sport isn't just about looks though, as this model comes packed with technology. Sport trim owners can enjoy keyless entry with a remote engine start, an upgraded 6-speaker sound system, heated front seats, and tinted windows for those hot summer days. And for chillier days, the front seats are heated. There are even extra safety features too, with rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot monitoring.

Standout Features:

Standout Looks, inside and out: 18" wheels, wider tires, and red stitched seats make the 2023 HR-V Sport stand out among the crowd.

Even More Safety: Blind spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert make driving the HR-V Sport even safer.

EL-L Trim:

The 2023 Honda HR-V EX-L is the top-of-the-line model. On the outside, the first thing you'll notice is the moon roof and two-tone wheels. Look closely and you'll see the front and rear parking sensors which help with parking and provide automatic parking braking to help prevent parking lot scrapes. For those long late drives, drivers will appreciate the auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

On the inside, the cloth seats of the other trim levels are gone, replaced with plush leather seats, including a power-adjustable driver's seat. To keep everyone comfortable in their leather seats, the HR-V EX-L includes dual-zone climate control. This upgraded interior is complemented by ambient interior lighting.

Technology enhancements are the name of the game, with an upgraded 9" infotainment screen, complete with SiriusXM, and HD radio. For your convenience, there's also wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. With all these options for audio, you'll want a premium audio system, and the HR-V EX-L boasts a powerful 8-speaker sound system.

Standout Features:

Dual Zone Climate: A dual-zone climate control system means the passengers in the back can be just as comfortable as the driver in the front.

A Soundstage on Wheels: A powerful 8-speaker sound system that road-trip DJs everywhere will appreciate.
