The New 2021 Honda Pilot

The new Honda 2021 Pilot is a major contender in the midsize 3-row crossover-SUV category. The cabin is versatile and spacious, it can seat up to eight people or provide the driver with up to 109 cubic feet of cargo space. And even though most drivers probably won't venture too far off the beaten path, the Pilot makes for a great off-road vehicle.

Add in the car's powerful V6 engine, comfortable ride, and fantastic resale values and it's easy to see why so many people love the new Honda Pilot. Keep on reading for a guide to the 2021 Pilot. We'll give you an overview of everything you need to know so that you can decide if this is the right car for you and your family.

Driving the Honda 2021 Pilot
The new Honda Pilot is a safe and comfortable ride for the entire family. The all-wheel-drive system in the Pilot will packs plenty of power, and thanks to selectable terrain modes (sand, mud, snow) you can handle all the elements with ease -the Pilot can drive over sand, climb up a nearly thirty-degree incline, and negotiate rocks too. In fact, up to seventy percent of the car's power can go to its rear wheels.

The Pilot also has improved handling thanks to its torque-vectoring feature. This means that the outside wheels can turn quicker than the inside ones and pull the Pilot faster around corners and with more precision.

Interior
The 2021 Honda Pilot comes with a spacious cabin and more overall room than the Toyota Highlander. Small details like the fifteen cup holders and integrated armrests in the front seats can make a big difference when venturing on family road trips.

The entry-level LX trim is going to be your most basic interior. You'll get a five-inch infotainment system and cloth-covered seats. The more popular EX-L trim will present you with a more upscale feeling thanks to its beautiful leather upholstery.

Most versions of the Honda Pilot will be able to seat eight passengers within three rows. When you get to the Touring trim, you'll be able to order a couple of heated captain's chairs for the second row. While this brings the total number of possible passengers down to seven, you'll also be adding a greater sense of comfort as well as easier access to the back row. This upgrade is standard with the Elite trim.

Exterior
The midsize 3-row crossover SUV has a classic look. On the lower trims, roof rails are optional, but they are standard on the Pilot SE. One of the main reasons to consider upgrading to the EX-L trim   is the power-operated tailgate. And starting at the SE level, you get the hands-free tailgate variation (a sensor picks up foot movement) as standard.

Safety
The 2021 Honda Pilot has a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA and high marks from the IIHS as well. Honda Sensing comes standard in every version of the 2021 Pilot. These driver aids include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control.

Also standard in all new Pilots is 3-row side-curtain airbags with rollover sensor.
Blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert comes standard in the EX trim and above.

Honda 2021 Pilot Trim Levels
With seven different trim levels, it can be difficult to decide which is the right version for you. Let's look at some of the most defining features of each trim level in order to better help you figure out which one will best suit your driving needs.
