Research Hub

The Honda Ridgeline is a unique entry in the midsize pickup segment, offering a combination of SUV comfort and truck utility. Unlike traditional body-on-frame pickups, the Ridgeline uses a unibody construction shared with the Honda Pilot SUV. This design gives it a smooth, car-like ride, superior on-road handling, and a quieter cabin-traits not often found in trucks.
Under the hood, the Ridgeline is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard across all trims. The truck offers strong acceleration for its class, achieving 0-60 mph in about six seconds. It can tow up to 5,000 pounds and has a payload capacity of around 1,500 pounds, making it capable enough for most recreational and light-duty hauling needs.
One of the Ridgeline's most innovative features is its bed. It includes a dual-action tailgate that can swing open or drop down, and an in-bed trunk-a lockable, waterproof storage area beneath the bed floor. The bed is also wide enough to fit 4x8 sheets of plywood flat between the wheel wells, adding to its practicality.
Inside, the Ridgeline offers a spacious and comfortable cabin for five passengers, with plenty of legroom and thoughtful storage solutions. Standard features include an 8- or 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tri-zone climate control, and a comprehensive suite of safety features through Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
Trim levels include Sport, RTL, TrailSport, and Black Edition, offering varying degrees of luxury, off-road styling, and technology. While it doesn't match the ruggedness or towing capacity of traditional pickups, the Ridgeline excels in comfort, versatility, and everyday usability-making it an excellent choice for lifestyle-focused truck buyers.
